Kajabi Communities How to

Kajabi Communities lets you create private discussion spaces tied directly to your courses, programs, or memberships. Members access the community through their Kajabi account, and access is controlled by the way the offer is set up.

What Kajabi Communities is designed to do

Kajabi Communities is designed to support private, often product-based interaction.

It is used to:

  • Host member discussions

  • Centralize questions and answers

  • Support courses and programs with ongoing conversation

  • Add value to memberships and coaching offers

  • Reduce email and support requests

Communities are not standalone.

Where Kajabi Communities lives in Kajabi

Kajabi Communities is managed inside the Products section of your dashboard.

How Kajabi Communities access works

Community access is not public and not automatic.

Access is controlled by:

  • Offer configuration

  • Membership/subscription status

A member can only see a community if they own the offer attached to the membership.

How to create a Kajabi Community

Step 1: Navigate to Communities

  1. Log into Kajabi

  2. Go to Products

  3. Select Communities

Step 2: Create the community

  1. Click + New Community

  2. Enter a community name

  3. Save

At this point, the community exists but no one can access it yet.

How to grant member free access to a community

Step 3: Connect the community to a product or offer

  1. Choose the contact(s) who will receive the offer

  2. Select the offer to grant access

Only members who own that product will see the community.

How members access Kajabi Communities

Once access is granted, members find the community inside their Kajabi account.

Members:

  • Log in to their dashboard

  • Click the community link or tab

  • View posts and discussions

There is no separate app or login required.

What members can do inside a Kajabi Community

Members can:

  • Create posts

  • Comment on posts

  • Reply to other members

  • Participate in discussions

  • View announcements

The experience is similar to a private forum or group.

Using Kajabi Communities with memberships

Kajabi Communities works especially well with memberships.

Common membership use cases:

  • Monthly discussion prompts

  • Ongoing support threads

  • Q&A posts

  • Community announcements

  • Member check-ins

When a membership is canceled or expires:

  • Community access is automatically removed (if it's set up that way behind the scenes)

Using Kajabi Communities with courses or programs

Communities can also support:

  • Courses

  • Group coaching programs

  • Cohort-based offers

  • Time-bound programs

In this case, the community:

  • Extends learning beyond lessons

  • Keeps questions in one place

  • Reduces repeated support emails

What happens when access ends

When a member loses access to the product:

  • Community access can optionally end automatically depending on how it's set up

  • The member can still log into their account but cannot view the community

Notifications and engagement behavior

Members receive notifications based on:

  • Their account notification settings

  • Activity inside the community

Kajabi controls notification delivery, not individual posts.

Limitations of Kajabi Communities

Kajabi Communities:

  • Is private only

  • Requires login

  • Is tied to Kajabi products

  • Does not replace platforms built for massive, open forums

It works best for private, program-based audiences.

When Kajabi Communities is the right choice

Kajabi Communities is a good fit when:

  • You want discussions tied to paid offers

  • You want access to follow subscriptions automatically

  • You want fewer tools to manage

  • You want members inside one platform
